Are you satisfied with your blog?
Yes. No. Damn that’s a tough question for me. I don’t really know how to answer that question. I always see something that I can and want to improve. For starters I’d love to have a blog template that is unique to me and my blog. I definitely want to attract a larger and more active readership, improve my writing, find a way to make money off of my blog, and I definitely want to get my blog off of Blogger, find a domain name I love, and have it hosted elsewhere. After I do all of those things I’ll probably find more things I want to improve on.

Does your family know about your blog?
Some of them do. I don’t really keep it a secret but I don’t just volunteer my URL to everyone I know. If they ask I’ll probably tell them.

Do you feel embarrassed letting your friends know about your blog?
Why would I? They know a lot more embarrassing shit about me then I’ve ever mentioned or hinted at in this blog. I have no reason to be embarrassed by anything I’ve said in my blog. Honestly, I’m more embarrassed about spelling and grammar errors I’ve noticed or caught after the point then them knowing about my blog. They know a lot of what I’ve said in it anyway and I honestly don’t think there are too many things I could say or do to surprise them. Well, I don’t think A. knew how much of a flirt/cyberhoe I really am.

Did blogging cause positive changes in your thoughts?
I don’t know about all of that. I suppose at times it helps me focus my thoughts and the more I write the more my skills seem to sharpen so I guess it’s a good thing. Blogging changing my thoughts positively or otherwise, not so much. Blogging is an avenue to express my thoughts period.

Do you just read blogs you know or do you love discovering new ones?
I enjoy reading blogs and I definitely like finding new blogs. The black blogging community is pretty small and you tend to stumble upon the same bloggers commenting on every damn blog. I do get a temporary and selfish satisfaction when I “discover” a new blog or a blogger people have been sleeping on and you don’t see the same set of “regular” bloggers commenting there. It’s only a short lived satisfaction because sooner or later (usually too soon in my opinion) someone else will notice them commenting in my blog and then it becomes another case of the same old same old. It really is true that the cream rises to the top, I guess. I’d love to discover some new blogs to read but lately I’ve found nada in terms of new (well new to me) and interesting blogs to read. I’ll continue to search though.

What do blog stats mean to you?
No matter what anyone tells you, once you have even one reader, you tend to change the way you write, even if it’s only temporary. Anyone that tells you differently is a damned dirty liar! Stats are a double edged sword. On the one hand they can clue you in on to what people like to read, tell you whose blog is referring them to you, and other interesting stuff. Sometimes the stats do motivate me to blog when nothing else does just because I know there are people in the blogosphere discovering me for the first time or who read me damn near religiously. I probably would’ve stopped blogging or blogged a lot less often without knowing my blog’s stats.
On the other hand, one can become a slave to his or her stats, see what posts gets hits, and just rehash the same type of stuff to maintain their status quo becoming stagnant.

Personally, if I could only have one I’d rather have a core of active readers who comment frequently than to triple or quadruple my popularity (visits, views, feeds, and blogrolls I’m on) with people who just like to read and say nothing. I know my readers because of their comments and I love those. They create a sense of community, not the hit counters. However, with that being said I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t wanted more viewers and people commenting.

Do you make a mental image of other bloggers or do you exchange pictures?
Not really. Considering the fact that I’m pretty sure I’m not going to meet most of, if any of them in person I really don’t care what they look like. Am I curious to see what some bloggers look like? Sure I am but it’s not really that serious with me. If we were to chat and develop a friendship it would probably happen sooner or later anyway. I’m highly doubtful that I would just explicitly and seriously ask a blogger for a pic (unless it’s of her ass or something because I’m just a perv like that and I’d really be slightly more curious to see if any of them would actually send me that kind of pic.) I hate when the first thing out of someone’s mouth is “what do you look like?” or “do you have pictures?” so it’s not an issue I try to force.

Do you think there are real benefits to blogging?
It’s all subjective I suppose. The real benefit of blogging to me is in the avenue of personal expression, stress relief, peace of mind, and entertainment. Now if my future babies’ mama(s) is/are reading this then all the better.

Do you think that the blogosphere is isolated from the real world?
What’s real? There is a line of thought that says there is no such thing as reality just perception. Seems like a possible paradox to me because wouldn’t perception then become reality and would there not be as many realities as there are perceptions? That’s something to chew on but I digress. I don’t think the blogosphere is necessarily isolated from the real world.

Does criticism annoy you?
Depends on the criticism, who is criticizing, and why. There’s a time, place, and way to criticize me if you want or hope for it to be helpful and thoughtfully considered. Coming at me any old kind of way will just make me defensive, come at you the same way, and probably hurt your feelings.

What would happen to your blog after you die?
If I died tomorrow I suppose people would keep coming back and checking for a new post for a couple of days. After that, I suppose one or two people might leave a message in my chat box or in my comments asking when I’m going to do a new post. Within a couple of days of that someone might wonder if I’m okay and I might get an e-mail. After that the visits will consistently dwindle down as my readership find other blogs to read and stop checking all together. Eventually my comments will become full of spam and my blog would live on some sector of a platter of some server’s harddrive in cyberspace until it’s erased or something I guess.

What song would you put a link to on your blog?
I have a new song on my blog every week, check it out sometime. Currently, it’s “If You Say my Eyes are Beautiful” by Whitney Houston & Jermaine Jackson. Who knows what it’ll be tomorrow.
